General Information

Core Purpose of the Christian Legal Society

To Challenge and Encourage Christians Lawyers in their Professional Life.

The CLS is comprised of lawyers and others working in the legal field from Victoria, Australia, practising in multiple different fields and in different arms of the profession.  Among our membership we have solicitors, barristers, Judges, corporate counsel, academics and lawyers, paralegals and support staff working in related fields.

The CLS also welcomes the input of law students and endeavours to work with the Christian law student groups on campus in Melbourne's law schools.

You may notice that we have changed our name from the Christian Lawyers Society to the Christian Legal Society.  Although this is not a large change, the Committee felt that the term Legal was a more inclusive term and would encompass all those working in the legal field, whether it be private practice, corporate, educational, recruitment, the court system or any related field, whether in the role of lawyer or paralegal or legal support staff.  All Christians working in all legal fields are welcome to join the Society and attend our functions.
